The Guardian

This little one's mom looked like she was daring anyone to come near her baby. I thought it was interesting how different the two of them looked. It reminded me of a book from my childhood, I think it was called "Three Little Horses at the King's Palace." They were named Blackie, Brownie, and Whitie, and my two sisters and I would play and pretend to be the three horses. I know the names aren't very original, and not even politically correct, but when you're little it makes sense. This is painted on an 11"x14" panel.

  1. I love the colors and bold graphic shapes in this painting. The protective mama and her baby are adorable!

  2. Just came across your blog and couldnt resist this piece, lovely scene really like the way you have handled it.

  3. Amy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. As always, your pieces make my eyes a little glossy ;)
    Au Revoir,
