Matinee Show at Hargrove Shoals

This painting is from some photos I took last summer of the Cahaba Lilies that were blooming in late May. Most Alabamians are familiar with these flowers, but for those of you that aren't, the Cahaba Lily  only blooms from mid-May to mid-June, and in very few places. The Cahaba River is one of the places. They grow on the shoals in fast moving water and stand about 3 feet tall. Really beautiful!
The painting is 12"x30" on board.

  1. WOW! I love the energy and flow of this painting, beautiful caste shadows and graphic edges. Beautiful.

  2. This so nice Amy. I love the format! Good to see you posting.
