Yogi

Yogi is wonderful "mature" gentleman pug. My friend, Mary Sowell, who is an amazing artist herself, made his pendant from silver clay. This painting was a little larger (11" x 14") than some of my earlier dog studies so I was able to have some fun with the paint. Painting these dogs has given me the opportunity to meet some great people, and get to know others a lot better. I've always thought art lovers were good people!!

  1. Yogi is about the cutest little thing I've seen. How do you get them to hold still?

  2. Thanks, Danette! I took pictures of Yogi, but Mary actually had some really good ones. I used a couple of them for reference.

  3. I love your work, particularly your stylized Pet Portraits. The black ground works great with your loose style. I like the way you allow it to "outline" the figures.

Great job on the Koi painting too. That's going to be spectacular when you finish!

  4. Oh...by the way...I would like to put your link on my blog if that's ok. I don't want to miss a thing!
