Couldn't resist the expression on this dog's face - a mix of exhaustion and enthusiasm (but mostly exhaustion!)
I want to thank everyone who has visited and/or commented on my artwork. It's a lot of fun to see what other people think of your work. And just so everyone doesn't think I'm only painting dogs, I'll add a few of the other small paintings. This one is a 5"x7" called "An Apple a Day."
These are great! I love the blue you used in the background of the pooch and in the apple painting. Very nice, soft brushwork.
ReplyDeleteThis is too funny -those splayed arms, that dog is NOT moving anytime soon - believe me, I know all to well. . . . ! Do you paint from photos? Love this color combination too - but the expression is just too much! So much of this little dog's character is revealed here.
ReplyDeleteI do paint from photos. I usually take lots of pictures of dogs and people at market and try to catch some interesting shadows and poses. I want to try plein air painting, but haven't gotten the nerve up yet! I don't think it would work for the dogs though!
