Cahaba Beauties
Here's another of the large cahaba lily paintings I did. These flowers are just amazing to see in person, but you have to catch them between Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day, and only in a few places in the world, Alabama being one of them. We're lucky to live close enough - about an hour away - and make a point to see them.

Singular Beauty
If anyone can make it to the Kentuck Festival of the Arts in Northport, AL this weekend I'll be in booth J12. It's the 40th anniversary of this show with lots of great artists. And the weather should be beautiful! I've painted several large (20"x30") cahaba lilies for the show, this being one of them. I hope to see some of you there!

Matinee Show at Hargrove Shoals
This painting is from some photos I took last summer of the Cahaba Lilies that were blooming in late May. Most Alabamians are familiar with these flowers, but for those of you that aren't, the Cahaba Lily only blooms from mid-May to mid-June, and in very few places. The Cahaba River is one of the places. They grow on the shoals in fast moving water and stand about 3 feet tall. Really beautiful!
The painting is 12"x30" on board.
